Still my go-to Thai restaurant in Clifton. This is a small but mighty restaurant with only hits. I've tried most of the things on the menu and have so many favorites from chicken ka paow, pad Thai, drunken noodles, green curry, tofu kapaow. The most surprising thing on the menu is their yum watercress salad. I've never seen this on the menu any where, but it's delicious. It's deep fried watercress with shrimp, squid, chicken, in a fish saucey, lime dressing with cilantro and cashew. It's tangy, savory, spicy- I'm drooling. It's a must try! Service has always been good whether dining in or taking out.

I was choosing between a few thai options in the area and I am glad I decided this one! I really enjoyed my pad thai and thai ice tea. I ordered online and the process was a breeze. Thai tea was made when I arrived so it didn't get watery. Pad thai had great flavor, good spice and big chicken pieces. The inside of the restaurant is very small, just a warning for bigger groups. For a tuesday night, it was pretty busy inside. I would definitely go back!

Sakoonthai is the best Thai in Northern Virginia PERIODT. When their Fair Lakes location closed down several years ago, I searched high and low for a place that could replicate their fragrant, yellow chicken curry, but to no avail. So, when I discovered that they had reopened in Centreville, I immediately gathered my friends for a nostalgic trip down memory lane. And let me tell you, we had an absolute feast! The yellow chicken curry was just as delicious, if not better, than I remembered. We also indulged in the yum watercress salad, a specialty that is not commonly found on Thai restaurant menus. Additionally, we enjoyed a variety of noodles, rice dishes, and seafood. Despite ordering a full table's worth of food, our final bill came out to slightly less than $100. IN THIS ECONOMY. We were pleasantly surprised and vowed to support Sakoonthai again. If you're in search of a cozy place with fantastic food, look no further than Sakoonthai.

Updating my review to 5 stars! TL;DR: our go-to for Thai food; dine in is better than take out for most noodle dishes Read my previous review for more detail. We love this spot and it is consistent, delicious, and close. Favorite dishes: ~Drunken Noodle ~Pad See Ew ~Basil Fried Rice ~Larb Gai ~All the curries ~Thai Tea ~Soft Shell Crab Signature Dish ~Pad Thai ~Kapow ~Crab Fried Rice Inside is small and cute (so there may be a bit of a wait if dining in). Service is always stellar!
